This piece from the Sunday Times serves as a reminder that the claims made for technology, progress, and modern conveniences are too overblown, and that human beings have fundamental longings and needs that can’t be satisfied by texting and TV. When I reflect on the fact that this culture we have is in many ways unsustainable, it is typically more an expression of hope than despair. Humans tend to return to that which is genuinely human. Plus there’s just some good advice here.
Hope for Peace and Quiet
