  1. To compare “Red Dawn” to “Battle of Algiers” is just silly. This comment was not made by anyone who understands (or even likes) films.

  2. Yes, “Red Dawn” is not actually that good of a film, reminds me of something Republic Pictures might have made during WWII. On the other hand, Milius’s “The Wind and the Lion” and “Big Wednesday” are good films and hold up pretty well after 40 years, as does the Milius-penned “Jeremiah Johnson.” And Milius’s “Farwell to the King” is an arresting, interesting failure which seems oddly truncated.
