Bethany Hebbard

Bethany Joy Hebbard (neé Bear) is a radical homemaker and renegade PhD living in central Texas. She earned her doctorate in English from Baylor University and taught for several years at the University of Mobile in south Alabama. Her published works include papers on the fairy tales of George MacDonald and the allegorical imagination of John Bunyan. She now runs a missional apprenticeship program at Community First! Village, a community for chronically homeless men and women. In her workroom, you’ll find her Bible heading a shelf that includes The Family Sewing Book, volumes of fairy tales, and guides to Texas wildflowers. Alongside her husband Steven, Bethany strives to root her life in the wisdom of such works.
