José Marichal

José Marichal is a professor of political science at California Lutheran University. His research specializes in the role that algorithms and AI play in restructuring social and political institutions. His forthcoming book entitled You Must Become an Algorithmic Problem, explores the unwritten social contract people have with the algorithms that influence what they see, hear, and think. He is also involved in several collaborative projects examining how social media shapes political discourse. His next project, titled Machine Liberalism, will analyze how algorithms and AI alter societal expectations of liberal democracy.
