Robert Elder

Robert Elder is an Associate Professor of History at Baylor University, where he teaches courses on the American South, the Early Republic, and the Civil War. His latest book, Calhoun: American Heretic (Basic Books, 2021), is a biography of South Carolina Senator John C. Calhoun. He lives in Woodway, Texas.
