Earlier this week the first federal challenge of NSA surveillance opened. At this point in the proceedings, the main question seems to be whether any of the various challengers have standing to sue. With controversies such as the NSA surveillance fresh in the public mind, it’s unsurprising that trust in government is waning–something this piece claims could be easily remedied.

In other news, a university in Northern California is currently researching how to connect local farmers with local consumers. The project consists of a survey asking farmers what obstacles they face to selling locally and how the such obstacles could be removed.
