Melissa Sexton is a part-time English instructor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College. She received her PhD in American environmental literature from the University of Oregon, and her research interests include American nature writing, science studies, and theories of the Anthropocene. Her work has appeared in The Concord Saunterer: A Journal of Thoreau Studies and Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies.
