If you are interested in submitting a piece to FPR, please spend some time reading what we’ve published. You might start with the essays listed on the “About Us” page or with this essay describing the kinds of pieces we publish. If those interest you, you can even read the FPR Manifesto. Please email submissions as a Word doc or Google doc to Jeff Bilbro.
FPR does not publish essays that have appeared elsewhere online (though authors retain the copyright to their essays and can republish them after they’ve appeared at FPR).
We aim to respond promptly to submissions and pitches and, if an essay is accepted, to provide a rigorous yet supportive editorial process. At this time, however, we cannot pay contributors; FPR remains, for better and worse, an amateur endeavor. We’re profoundly grateful for the many thoughtful writers who share the fruits of their craft with our community.
