This announcement is a disappointment, although not a surprise. FPR has a few suggestions to temper your grief:

  • Barbecue and pull some pork, then slather on homemade Nashville BBQ sauce.
  • Read Jason Peters’s (or is it the Culinary Plagiarist’s?) new book to inspire more summer adventures in the kitchen.
  • Be sure you’re subscribed to Local Culture. The fall issue on Christopher Lasch will be excellent.
  • Let me know if you’d be interested in hosting a gathering of FPR readers on your front porch this summer or early fall. We’ll publish a list of hosts and dates in the coming weeks.

Enjoying what you’re reading?
