Matthew Schmitz is a writer and editor living in Princeton, New Jersey. He is the deputy editor of First Things and the founding managing editor of Public Discourse, an influential online journal of ethics, law and the common good. His work also appears at the League of Ordinary Gentlemen, a blog devoted to the promotion of conversational writing. He received an A.B. from Princeton University in 2008 and is a native of O'Neill, Nebraska.
